Our bi monthly book club discussion on Quiet, by Susan Cain, drew in many new participants, despite or perhaps because of, identifying strongly with the theme of the book. Discussion ranged from how the society favours extroverts to the extent of openly disapproving and expecting a change from introverts….to the dangers of such labels and typecasting anyone even before getting to know them. The current political situation was also brought in and how it would benefit everyone to be tolerant and accepting of the differences between us. As we heard from the loud ones and the quiet ones there was hope that the extroverts didn’t entirely dominate this discussion…
