Navigating the complexities of artificial reproduction, weighing its risks and benefits, and making life-changing decisions is challenging\u2014 specially for those facing relationship conflicts, mental health struggles, or other health issues affecting their well-being.<br \/>\nCounselling those who seek IVF treatment requires a unique understanding of the clinical process, the emotional and medical challenges and skills to manage issues that arise in the perinatal period.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>8 SESSIONS OVER FOUR WEEKENDS + 5 SESSIONS OF SUPERVISION<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meet the experts<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Dr Prabha Chandra, psychiatrist.<\/li>\n<li>Dr Sandip Deshpande, psychiatrist.<\/li>\n<li>Dr Sumana Gurunath, <span>infertility specialist<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Poornima Mahindru, clinical psychologist.<\/li>\n<li>Dr Ashlesha Bagadia, psychiatrist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Learning objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>An overview of the artificial reproductive treatment process(ART) and legal aspects involved in it.<\/li>\n<li>Assessment of emotional and sexual factors contributing to infertility.<\/li>\n<li>Assessment and management of pre existing mental health issues.<\/li>\n<li>Psychological management skills during ART process .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Curriculum includes:<br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Risk factors contributing to infertility and and overview on ART.<\/li>\n<li>Emotional and sexual issues in subfertility and pre-IVF psychological assessment.<\/li>\n<li>Working with women with pre-existing mental health challenges\u00a0 and pre-conception counselling for those with identified pre-existing mental illness.<\/li>\n<li>Specific counselling skills for breaking bad news and how to deal with grief and managing family dynamics.<\/li>\n<li>Psychological management during IVF process and multidisciplinary approach towards psychological management.<\/li>\n<li>Third party reproduction including surrogacy\/adoption. Preparedness for donor\/surrogate options.<\/li>\n<li>Opening the door to adoption.<\/li>\n<li>Ethical and legal aspects related to IVF.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Sessions will take place on\u00a0Saturdays 2PM -5 PM\u00a0 and Sundays 11 AM &#8211; 2 PM.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supervision dates and times will be decided based on a common convenient time for the group.<\/p>\n<p>Zoom link will be provided 1 hour prior to the session.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Infertility can be a major source of stress for couples.
