Reflective practice is the ongoing, intentional process through which therapists examine their internal experiences, clinical choices, and interactions with clients to enhance therapeutic effectiveness. It is a cornerstone of ethical, relational, and skilled psychotherapy—across modalities, though particularly emphasized in relational and psychodynamic traditions.
This short talk focuses on strengthening the reflective capacity of mental health professionals—both inside the consultation room and in their work with clients. It introduces key concepts such as relational attunement, reflexivity, and the application of ethical reflection in clinical practice.
The session is suitable for counsellors, clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, and psychiatrists who wish to deepen and enhance their reflective practice across therapeutic settings.
