We are delighted to be back with Living Room, a reading circle for psychotherapists dedicated to contextualizing theory and practice to the unique social locations that we occupy as clinicians and social-political-cultural beings.
Join us as we make (and take) room to engage with texts by psychoanalytic, psychosocial, cultural, and literary thinkers in a small, closed group setting with fellow psychotherapists.

This season we’ll discuss The Analyst’s Torment by Dhwani Shah.

WHO IS IT FOR?

  • Psychotherapists with a minimum qualification of MA/Msc. in clinical psychology or other mental health related fields.
  • Ability to meet in person in Bangalore for an in-person engagement.

 

  • Group Size: 8 participants.
  • Second Saturday of every month.
  • Starting 12 July, 2025 and ending 13 December, 2025.
  • 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm IST.
  • Fee includes tea and snacks.
  • We expect you to purchase your own copy of the book.

 

Facilitator: Kanika Mehrotra (Ph.D), psychotherapist

Kanika is a practicing psychotherapist with The Green Oak Initiative, Bangalore. Through her training at Delhi University, NIMHANS, and the University of Rhode Island, she has followed her calling for understanding, celebrating, and engaging with the human condition in all its myriad forms.
She is currently furthering her professional training with the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. She is passionate about creating shared spaces for ‘thinking through together’ with fellow psychotherapists. In her free time, she enjoys poetry, watercolors, and ‘fanzenning’.
