Event Time:

We’re inviting you to slow down and reflect on how we show up as therapists, especially when we don’t have all the answers. In this experiential workshop, we’ll explore the core stance of Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT), with a focus on being curious and authentic in the room. Through simple, interactive exercises we’ll think about how to sit with uncertainty, stay open, and reflect with our clients rather
than for them.

Meet the expert

Shilpa is a Clinical Psychologist (RCI) with an MPhil in from Manipal University. She offers both brief and long-term psychotherapy to adults at present, with a focus on relational and reflective ways of working.
Her clinical practice is strongly influenced by Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT).
She has completed her advanced training in MBT with the Anna Freud Centre, under Prof. Anthony Bateman.

    Learning objectives

      • Introduction to the MBT therapist stance of “not-knowing”.
      • Differentiate this approach from more expert-driven or solution focused ways of working.
      • Maintaining curiosity even when things are unclear, emotional or confusing.
      • Explore simple, practical ways to bring the curious stance into your sessions.

Zoom link will be provided 1 hour prior to the session.
