Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) – a psychotherapy model originally developed in the UK- integrates ideas from cognitive, analytic and dialogic sources. CAT was developed to find a common language across the different psychotherapy models.
Application
CAT is a brief, time-limited therapy that has growing evidence of effectiveness and utility. It can be applied across diagnoses and in varied cultural settings and languages.
It has been found to be effective with primary and specialist care of depression, eating disorders, personality difficulty/disorders, OCD, PTSD, somatoform disorders and in managing long term conditions like diabetes and substance abuse. CAT can also be used to support adolescents and adults with ASD or intellectual disability, experiencing mental health difficulties.

In this three hour workshop you will be introduced to the model and its application in your clinical work and sociocultural context.
This workshop is part of a training pathway being set-up for CAT in the Indian context, based on an internationally recognized CAT competency framework.
