This workshop explores the role of culture in shaping experiences of distress, help-seeking, and therapeutic relationships. Through discussions on intersectionality, social context, and structural competence, participants will reflect on ways of developing more culturally responsive and socially just psychotherapy practices. Designed as part of our Foundation Course in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and open to the wider community of therapists, the workshop offers an opportunity to think critically about the influence of culture and context on clinical work.

Meet the Expert
Dr. Priyanka Mittal is a clinical psychologist, supervisor, and trainer with about 15 years of experience working with children and adults across diverse contexts. Her research work focuses on decolonisation, culutural sensitivity and social justice with psychotherapy practice. She is the co-founder of Reflexive Dialogues – a mental health learning and advocacy initiative.
